Hailed by Newsweek as one of the top 100 people to watch in the new millennium, William Joyce has achieved worldwide recognition as an artist, author, illustrator, filmmaker and innovative leader in the digital animation industry. His artwork has been featured in his many books, films, television shows, as well as numerous New Yorker covers, museums and fine art galleries.
In 2012, Joyce earned an Academy Award for the short film, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore; which he co-directed with Brandon Oldenburg, his partner in Moonbot Studios. Joyce is the recipient of three Emmy awards for Rollie Polie Olie, an animated series based on his collection of children’s books, airing on the Disney channel. In November 2012, DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures released Rise of the Guardians, a 3D computer-animated fantasy adventure film based off Joyce's The Guardians of Childhood book series and The Man in the Moon, a short film by Joyce and Reel FX.
