National award-winning illustrator, designer, sculptor and Oscar-winning film director, Brandon Oldenburg’s innovative works find acclaim throughout the visual arts. A distinguished graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design, co-founder of the award-winning Moonbot Studios and Reel FX Creative Studios; Oldenburg’s keen artistic eye has made a significant mark on the worlds of digital animation and special effects for film and television.
Oldenburg’s career has included projects with Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks and Blue Sky Studios. Oldenburg and artist William Joyce won the 2011 Academy Award for their animated short film, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Prior to the duo launching Moonbot Studios, Oldenburg and Joyce collaborated on numerous projects including Halloween décor for Martha Stewart, parade floats for Disney and title design for feature films such as Mr. Magorium.
Installed in 2009 and stretching 38-feet into the Dallas sky, the 1.4 million-dollar commissioned series The Traveling Man was the result of an unique collaboration between Oldenburg and renowned sculptor, Brad Oldham. In the Spring of 2014, Oldenburg will continue his work in the three-dimensional arts with a sculpture series designed exclusively for Pure Sculpture.
